On the Cutting Room Floor

Singin’ in the Rainer Maria
Cutting Clash: This one is near and dear to my heart. Rainer Maria is a 90’s/2000’s emo group led by the amazing Caithlin de Marrais. They formed in Madison, Wisconsin—my current hometown—before relocating to New York. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live several times over the years (decades), most recently last year at a 30-year anniversary blocks away from my house at the brand new Atwood Music Hall. Every time I’ve seen them live, they amaze me with the fullness of the sound this 3-piece is able to create.
I was excited to include this puzzle, but when putting together the hints I sadly learned just how criminally underrated this band is. I decided based on Spotify listener counts, this one was just a bit too obscure to include in this already difficult round.
Go give them some love!
